While the Coranderrk Station was and is Wurundjeri land, the Station's population, and the people who are descended from them, represent many different Indigenous communities from Victoria and across Australia. The history explored in this resource, while primarily represented by the story of Coranderrk, spans events across the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries - and is the story of all of us- Victorians, Australians and those who call Australia home. The people whose accounts feature in the Minutes of Evidence from 1881 can thus be seen as snapshots of elements of broader society today, for example:
